Standard UTM Parameters for Email
Email is one of the highest-ROI channels, but without proper UTM tracking, you can't measure its true impact. Here's how to set it up correctly.
For email campaigns, use these standard values:
- utm_source: newsletter, email, or the specific email platform
- utm_medium: email
- utm_campaign: the specific campaign name
- utm_content: the specific link or CTA
Automated vs. Manual Campaigns
For automated email flows (welcome series, abandoned cart), use a consistent naming pattern:
